Yes, this is most likely the problem. Although admin pages sometimes say they support PHP5, they may often run PHP4 by 'default'. Adding this to your .htaccess file may work:

AddType application/x-httpd-php5 .php
AddHandler x-httpd-php5 .php

Brendon,

I did this and I don't know where it tells you the "error", but my website obviously runs PHP 4.9.9 (although I swear I looked up on my admin page that it said PHP5). Do you think that this is the problem in my case?

Thanks!!

Hello,

Would somebody affected by this issue be able to run phpinfo() and tell me what error is being reported. I'm fairly certain that some old version (maybe even 5.*(?)) of PHP is the issue.

No, the probability does not determine the order. (It wouldn't be probabilistic, then). If you wish to do this, you could write some back-end logic or use PHP code in the message to decide on which message to display (this could look a bit messy).

Thanks,
Brendon.

Are the probability settings used to determine the order messages are sent e.g. .5 prob = first message .2 prob = second and .1 prob = third?
Alternatively, before I go digging through the code is there a pre-defined way to order message delivery?
Thanks in advance.

I'm hosted by Lynxtdc.com and it installed perfectly. Maybe you should email them and ask how the server is configured. Then you could ask your hosting folks to set up your server the same way. service@lynxtdc.com if you want to give it a shot.

Hi, I'm having the same issue as the others above. I use DreamHost for my server. I'm getting the parse error and can't fix it. The PHP5 isn't the issue on our end either.

I was recommended to your Plugin by this post - http://www.sitesketch101.com/15-incredible-wordpress-plugins-you-need

So, I'm not sure if you might get others commenting with the same issue.

I absolutely love the concept and would really like to get this activated on our site if we can, so any other advice you can provide would be great.

Thanks for taking the time to help us try to work through this!

I did check back with my host (lunarpages). In the control panel it says that PHP 5 is installed. I don't know how to check for the "version" of the PHP5.

@sannie7: are you 100% sure you are using PHP5? Some hosts will require additional configuration to use PHP5. (Also, are you using a relatively later version of 5? -- maybe there is an issue in the earlier releases). Other than that, I can not see any syntax error in the file; and suspect there is none, since it works fine on my installation.

Thanks,
Brendon.

Hello,

Everything looks fine here. You don't happen to be running a really old version of PHP do you? Please try PHP 5 if possible. Have a look at the phpinfo() function to get the version details.
